Summer Collections Volunteer Required
Summer Project Opportunity 2018
Collections Location Audit Project at The Peace Museum
We are seeking volunteers to take part in a Collections Location Audit Project. As part of our accreditation agreement with Arts Council England, we need to complete a location audit of our 7000 item collection. We are now in the final stages of the audit and aim to have it finished by the end of the year. This will involve using our MODES collection system. The main purpose of this project is to assist with the audit. There will be other duties associated with the role, including general museum assistant duties such as welcoming visitors. The ideal candidate will preferably have previous collections experience (desired, not essential) and have a passion for museums and heritage. Specific location audit training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a career in the museum industry. The position will involve working Thursdays and/or Friday (days can be negotiable and may vary) and is unpaid, but travel expenses will be covered.
If you are interested please contact Shannen Lang by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please include a CV and covering statement outlining your interest and relevant information/experience. There will be informal interviews for shortlisted applicants. We are hoping for the project to commence from July and run through until September but this can be flexible and/or extended.
