Current Temporary Exhibition: Challenging the Fabric of Society

Textile Exhibition Extended!

The Peace Museum holds a unique and varied textile collection, including handmade banners and quilts that have been used at some of the most important peaceful protests and demonstrations of the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition showcases these textiles across the galleries, including pop up banners. With a vibrant mix of colour and handmade craftsmanship, these textiles bring to life peace campaigns and tell the stories of those who have campaigned for peace. This exhibition is supported by a grant from The Textile Society.

In early November we held a series of school workshops and an adult learning event in collaboration with our partners, Bradford Libraries WWI Commemoration Reading Rug, you can see the Poppies children made as part of these school workshops which have now formed part of the exhibition.

The exhibition was due to end on January 20th but due to popular demand it will now remain open until March 17th 2017. If you would like to book a group visit, please contact the museum to discuss requirements; free guided tours are available on request.
