Visit from Japanese Peace Delegation
On Tuesday 4th October 2016 the Peace Museum was delighted to welcome a visit from a high profile Japanese Peace Delegation. The Delegation met with Rev, Dr. Clive Barrett, Chair of Trustees of the Peace Museum and other staff members. The delegation included Mr. Terumi Tanaka, who personally experienced the bombing of Nagasaki in 1945; Mr. Shushi Kajimoto, Secretary General of Hyogo Prefectural Gensuikyo; Ms. Reiko Asato, Executive Board member of Gensuikyo and Mr. Katsuji Abe, Akhata newspaper reporter. They were taken on a full tour of the galleries, including an exhibition on Sadako Sasaki, a young girl affected by the atomic bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.
