Call for Peace Museum Volunteers
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to come and volunteer at the Museum for at least one day per week, which might include weekends.
The Peace Museum occupies three small, unique galleries in one of Bradford’s many fine Victorian buildings. It is the only accredited Museum of its kind in the UK and tells the history of peace which is often untold.
The position will provide an introduction to what it is like to work in a Museum and will mainly involve front of house duties, welcoming visitors at reception, dealing with enquiries, overseeing shop purchases and may include assisting museum staff at events, curating exhibitions, and caring for the collection. The role would be ideal for someone interested in social history, peace history and/or someone with an interest in pursuing a career in the arts and heritage sector. Previous Museum experience is not necessary but would be useful. We have some specific opportunities for volunteers to develop based on their own interests including working on our pop up exhibitions, temporary gallery space and current LGBTQ+ project. Please specify if you have a specific interest in your email.
This is an unpaid position but reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
If you are interested please contact Learning and Engagement Officer [email protected] for further details.
