CND 60th anniversary celebrations in Bradford

Saturday 17th February 2018

Saturday 17th February marked the 60th anniversary of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and there was much celebration across Bradford. Yorkshire CND hosted a party at Kala Sangam, with music, dancing and storytelling. The Peace Museum was in attendance with a hugely successful ‘Bring Your Own Museum’ event. Everyone was invited to bring an object that was special to their time or connection with CND and the peace movement.  All objects were placed on display in a temporary exhibition for the day and some were taken back to The Peace Museum to be put on display for the final week of the ’60 Years of CND’ exhibition.

Simultaneously, The Peace Museum was open from 11am – 3pm for visitors to view the exhibitions and take part in lots of fun, family friendly activities at our first Saturday opening. We were pleased to welcome over 40 visitors, many new to the museum, and look forward to holding more Saturday openings in the future.
