Communities Together – Build a Bridge – Holocaust Memorial Day 2013

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) commemorations will take place on the 27th January  across the UK. Bradford Remembers, the annual gathering of people from across the local District to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and all genocides, will take place this year at Bingley Arts Centre on the 25th January. The theme for 2013 is Build a Bridge – Communities Together. To co-incide with HMD 2013 and Bradford Remembers, week beginning the 21st January will see the launch of a new mini-exhibition in our temporary exhibition area at the Peace Museum, featuring posters and artefacts from our collections that highlight a variety of conflicts, where the horrors of genocide and hate crimes have been addressed by individuals and groups of people taking action to build bridges between diverse people, allowing communities to live together. This small exhibition is the first to be curated by the Museum’s interns Naoe Shiraki and Chris Polechonski and will run until the end of February 2013.  Click here to find out more. ‘What can a person do?
