Event: Hiroshima Day 2016 SPECIAL OPENING

In remembrance of those who were killed or injured in the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, The Peace Museum is pleased to be involved in a memorial event with Yorkshire CND. At 12pm a vigil will take place by the Hiroshima memorial in Norfolk Gardens behind City Hall. The Lord Mayor will read a declaration made by the Mayor of Hiroshima followed by a range of readings and poems. Following the vigil, The Peace Museum will open from 1pm until around 3pm for a reception. All are welcome to attend, to visit the galleries, share in some light refreshments and reflect upon the events of 1945 and today. In addition, Bradford Quakers are pleased to host the Hiroshima Exhibition in the Meeting House during the day. The Meeting House will be open from 11am until 2.30-3pm to view the exhibition.
