Paid opportunity to work with us: Artist Brief
Artist Brief – Creative Responses to The Peace Museum Collection
The Peace Museum is the only museum of its kind in the UK with a unique collection that tells the story of local, national and international peacemakers. The museum is currently closed following government advice, but work still continues to ensure public access to our unique and inspiring collection. We have been implementing new ways to connect with our local communities by creating digital resources for children which can be used by parents, carers and teachers to engage children and young people in the themes of peace and cohesion.
We have secured a £500 Community Arts and Culture Response Grant from City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council to work with a local artist to create some digital creative responses to the collection. We will work with the artist to create some specially designed activity sheets based on objects in the collection featuring stories relevant to the diverse communities in Bradford. We would also work with the artist and use their expertise to come up with other ideas for other artistic responses that can be used by families and other members of the community to engage with our collection and give them something inspiring and enjoyable to do at home. This may include audio-visual content.
We aim to have the resources ready by late May to be able to share across our digital platforms. The £500 fee will cover three days of work by the artist and any additional resources that may be required.
If you are interested please complete an expression of interest, including 500 words about your creative practice, projects you’ve worked on before and some ideas of how you would approach the project.
Please email this to [email protected] by Monday 11th May at 4pm.
