Paper People Bradford – public art installation in City Park

Saturday 18th August 2018

A public artwork made by the public.

800 full size Paper People artworks and 250m bunting made of plastic collected from the beach in Lesvos will hang outside for one day only.

Paper People Bradford hopes to blur preconceived ideas of identity by presenting human beings as individual artworks.

The full scale Paper People artworks have been made in colleges, universities, schools and refugee support groups in the UK, and schools and refugee camps abroad. The bunting was made in conjunction with work created at the Pikpa Refugee camp in Greece.

To find out more about the Paper People project you can visit their website here: or visit the Paper People exhibition currently on display at The Peace Museum until Friday 31st August 2018

The Peace Museum will open from 11 am – 3 pm, on Saturday 18th August for visitors to view the Paper People exhibition. The exhibition aims to provide a background as to how and why the Paper People artwork came about. Featuring artwork created by refugees in the Calais Jungle and a child’s lifejacket. You can find out more about the child’s lifejacket in our Object of the Moment Blog.
