The Schools Linking Network and the Peace Museum

The Peace Museum has formed a new partnership with the Schools Linking Network (SLN), a national charity which supports schools and other organisations across England to explore identity, diversity, equality and community, using four key questions: Who am I? Who are we? Where do we live? How do we all live together? In Bradford the SLN works with over 100 schools. This new partnership will enable the Peace Museum to expand its reach and enable both the SLN and the Museum to develop further creative, collaborative and innovative projects that benefit pupils and partners alike. The Peace Museum and SLN will be working together initially at the new centre for young people Culture Fusion , along with partners from the YMCA.

In the first instance we are using our new resource for schools, Sport, Courage, Peace and Friendship and focusing on the Olympic and Paralympic values in the lead up to London 2012, as the basis for joint working. Around a 1,000 children have been involved in this work during the Spring Term 2012 with the SLN, YMCA and the Peace Museum.
