Volunteer at The Peace Museum
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team!
Volunteering at The Peace Museum will give an introduction to what it is like to work in a museum setting and will involve: front of house duties, welcoming visitors, dealing with enquiries, overseeing shop purchases and may include assisting museum staff at events, assisting with exhibitions, and caring for the collection.
The role would be ideal for someone interested in social history, peace history and/or someone with an interest in pursuing a career in the arts and heritage sector. Previous Museum experience would be useful but is not necessary.
There is scope for volunteers to develop based on their own interests, including working on specific exhibitions or museum tasks. Let us know if you have a specific interest you’d like to explore more in your email.
This is an unpaid position, but reasonable travel expenses will be covered. Please note that the Museum is currently located up some 60 steps and the building does not have a lift.
If you are interested, please contact Shannen, our Learning and Engagement Officer on [email protected] for further details or tell us a little bit about yourself and why you’re interested.
